Technical Questions and Answers

As a new service to our readers we have added ATVBarn's online ATV FORUM. Now you are able to post any ATV related questions, answers, tips, etc. directly online. This gives you better access to other ATVers without having to wait for us to post your question. Use this FORUM for anything you need to know or want to share with the ATV community. We will still maintain the Technical and Comments pages and leave existing postings for the immediate future. If you prefer to have your message posted on one of  those pages don't hesitate to email us. If the FORUM is successful and is not abused it will eventually replace these two pages. I HAVE A 2001 TRAILBLAZER POLARIS. ALL MY FRIENDS SAY THE QUAD IS A BABY QUAD, BUT I WANT TO SPIKE THE THING UP WITH A LOT OF POWER BUT NOT SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON IT.  I WANT TO GET A NEW FILTER. ANY OTHER IDEAS TO HELP ME OUT?   DirtBikeRider@msn.com   posted Nov. 6, 2002 CLICK TO REPLY

I HAVE A 2000 POLARIS SPORTSMAN 500. IT OVERHEATS AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF RUNNING. I REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT, PUT A NEW FAN SWITCH ON. THE RADIATOR ISN'T CLOGGED INSIDE OR OUTSIDE BETWEEN BAFFLES. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT IT COULD BE?      SX5X@aol.com   posted Oct. 30, 2002 CLICK TO REPLY

I have a question. First off I have a Polaris 350L AWD and it is a '93 model with only 3100 miles. I have had the motor blow 2 times. My question is: If anyone knows (if I can) replace the motor with a 4-stroke. I have asked this question at a Polaris Dealer several weeks ago with no response.

I am fairly new to ATV's and own a 2001 Banshee.  I would like to get a little more power out of it but not get too radical.  I have Sand Skate II's w/alum. wheels. I'm interested in hearing what others have done and if it worked for them before I make major mistakes. Thanks CLICK TO REPLY

I put a filter and pipe on mine and it woke it right up. I really like my Banshee for the sand. I works great! Tom...posted Sept. 2, 2002

Reply-In response to the Banshee.  One thing you might try is a aftermarket exhaust pipe and a K&N filter.  Good luck!

I have a 2002 Polaris Trailblazer.  We put a filter and exhaust pipe on, along with Aluminum wheels and Sand Skat II's.  It runs better but I think it will go up the hills allot easier with 9 Paddle Haulers on it.- Beth  Bend, Or  CLICK TO REPLY

I have the same bike. I too tried other paddles but ended up going back to the 9 haulers. The bike does go up the hills much, much better. I can't play on the hills with them like I could with Sand Skates but I found it is much better to get out of the hole and up the hill than to play around and NOT get out of the hole. We have had numerous inquiries about pumping up the Yamaha Banshee. Most are from sportsman riders who don't want a radical bike prone to breakage. If you have reasonable recommendations  for these people please send us an e-mail so we can post them here. We have also had questions concerning help for Polaris ATVs, mostly for use in the sand. We know that a pipe and some clutch modifications will help but need some more specific information. Any bike mechanics out there who would like to help?
